After the 2020 protests following the police killing of George Floyd, Sesame Street approached us to create this important doc series. Meerkat Media managed casting, production and post-production.

• • Our casting process included a broad outreach to schools, community organizations, neighborhood associations and individuals – to identify the right families who were already applying the language and tools to address issues around race.

• • We took a great deal of care to hire directors and crews that were representative of the communities we were working in, and created a safe, collaborative and comfortable environment on set.

• • The series was viewed by over 400,000 people, and was nominated for “Outstanding Nonfiction Program (Series)” at the 2022 Children and Family Emmy Awards. The series has traveled to various film festivals including the Smithsonian Native American Institute Showcase and is featured as part of Sesame Street’s comprehensive “Talking About Race” educational guide.
